Here is a Masterplan of the Patch made in April 2012. It helped me to concentrate my plans and fit everything in that I wanted to grow this year and gave me enormous satisfaction to draw!
Clockwise from the top you can see the Potato Bed and the fence onto the field where I will grow my outside Ferline Tomatoes. Then coming down the right hand side you can see the Greenhouse and then the rabbit fenced Patch with its 5 Beds. The first bed is the Fruit and Asparagus Permanent Bed; the second is the Brassica Bed this year (split by the two photographs); the third is the Roots Bed; the fourth is the Alliums Bed and the fifth is the Legumes Bed.
The bottom left hand corner is a space on the design where I have just listed the Salad and Herbs that I am growing this year.
Moving up the left hand side is the Artichoke Terrace Bed 2 which will have lots of artichokes grown from seed so that I can see which ones develop well and fruit and they can be divided to make a permanent crop there. I will also plant some extra late leeks there to overwinter.
Top left is the Squash and Zucchini Terrace Bed 1 with the Onion Bed to its right (lots of extra ones in here - hope the rabbits don't like them!) and to the left of it is a list of Fruit Trees we have planted and the Borlotti Beans.
The Masterplan took some time to do but it was great fun to make a map of the Patch!
